The habit that leads to success

It all started in 2020 when we had our online classes for BSc Sem 1. One of the lines from our maths teacher hit me hard.

He had said:

“Everyone must own a diary. Keep the habit of recording your thoughts in it every day. These will support you at times when you feel down. Write everything—how much you spent, what you did right, or what you didn’t. Self-analysis is important.”

A week after that, I bought a diary. Later, I also saw one of my inspiring influencers Aman Dhatarwal talk about the importance of penning down our goals.

Cut short to today, this habit has been life-changing. I started pursuing freelancing, learned a lot about the market and I’m still learning. I think this is what I would call the process of achieving the Greater.

Most of us have this in mind. “Oh, I want to earn money, become successful and live the life of my dreams.” But most of us either don't know HOW or don't want to put in the effort to apply that ‘HOW’.

Just to give you a head up—I earned my first 1$ with freelancing in 2020. And trust me, I didn't invest even a single penny. What drove me was my inner curiosity and tendency of taking the next step. Most people don't take this step.

Okay, let's start here. I want you to take a pen and your journal. If you don't have a diary yet, here's your sign to buy one today.

Now write 20 goals you want to achieve in the next 5 years. Anything.

For me, one of them is– I want to become the highest-paid freelancer in India (Shhh, don’t tell anyone).

Now write what should be the first step that you can take today to achieve these. For example, if your goal is to get into a good college, maybe start your research and take the first step. But start.

Now repeat this process every day. Write everything that happened throughout the day. Keep recording your thoughts and see yourself growing as a person.

I remember writing in my journal—I want to become financially independent. And today when I read my thoughts from early 2020, I am amazed at how many goals I have hit and how many more things I have achieved than I had imagined. We tend to underestimate ourselves too much.

But today if you adopt the habit of Journaling, I assure you that you are already on the path to something big and revolutionary.

Welcome to the path of your dreams. Dream High, achieve bigger!
